JULY

July has been a month full of summer fun! Here are about a million pictures of Joshy doing all sorts of fun things.

BEACH TIME WITH COUSINS
We were lucky enough to get to spend a day with Ryan's sister's family while they were visiting near San Diego. Joshy loved playing in the sand with his cousins!

Yay!

IN THE GARDEN
Joshua loves all fruits & vegetables, so it is his lucky day when he gets to harvest his favorite foods from the source.

Here he is helping Great-Grandma check on the eggplants.

Look how much he is loving this corn picked fresh from the garden!

TIO
We live semi-close to my brother's school, so Tio ("uncle" in Spanish) sometimes visits us after school.

Joshy likes to drag Tio into his room & shut the door, so that Tio has to stay & read books to him. He loves his Tio!

CHOLLAS LAKE
I used to walk around this lake with my mom & brother when I was a kid, so it has been fun to go back with Joshua & Ryan.

There are a ton of ducks, which we enjoy feeding since they are nice & don't bite. The big geese, however, are not our friends!

Thankfully, Daddy protects us from the big, scary geese.

HANGING OUT AT HOME
Joshy & I spent quite a bit of time at home in July since we didn't have a 2nd car yet. We had a lot of fun at home though! Joshy loves hanging out on his "wee."

The sandbox is also a lot of fun since we like to bury things (like toy dinosaurs) & find them again.

Joshy goes in his little pool even when he is fully clothed! :-)

On hot days, which is most days, we sit on our front porch & eat popsicles.

Joshua rides his bug every day.

He also LOVES books! His favorites right now are "Go, Dog! Go!," "Mr. Brown Can Moo," & quite a few others. I have ended up memorizing many of his books since we read them so often, which is kind of nice since that means I can "read" to Joshua with my eyes closed when I'm tired. :-)

Joshy's favorite towel is a duck he calls, "mah mah," which I think is his way of saying, "quack quack." Joshy thinks that his "puppa" (puppy) should go in the bath with him, but so far it has not. It did end up in the toilet once & was thoroughly laundered afterward.

Joshua does a great job brushing his own teeth. Look at those pearly whites!

Joshy finds things to play with around the house while I'm busy... things like lotion. :-)

Joshua helps me do chores around the house. He is actually pretty good at putting away the clean silverware.

Joshua has been helping me get things ready for his brothers. Here are some of their new clothes. I forgot how tiny babies are!

Joshua tested out the baby jumper and deemed it ready for baby use. He looks so huge in this thing now compared to how he used to look!

SWIMMING
We love to swim in my grandpa's pool!

Joshy does a great job swimming with the help of some water wings.

Being in the pool makes him very happy!

SAN DIEGO ZOO
The first time we went to the zoo, Joshy wasn't sure about the goats.

But now, he is brave enough to pet them all by himself!

Here is a rare picture of me & my belly at 29 weeks (about 7 months). I'm usually the one taking the pictures, so we don't have many belly pictures... which is really okay with me since it's so weird to see my belly sticking out like that! :-) Joshy really liked sitting in this helicopter they have near the polar bear area.

We rode the Skyfari, which is a gondola that takes you high above the zoo. I was so nervous about taking Joshua up in that thing, so I was happy to see that he was just as nervous & held on to the center pole the whole time.

Baby Caterpillar & Mama Butterfly!

My parents took a picture of me on this bronze turtle when I was just a little older than Joshua. The turtle hasn't aged a bit!

GRANDMA VISITS
My mom has been coming down to visit us once a week, which has been so fun for me & Joshua. We get pretty spoiled by her! Joshy looks like a tiny kindergartner with his new backpack & lunchbox!

Grandma always brings us something cool when she visits... things like bubbles...

...and sunglasses!

THE BEACH
We've gone to the beach a few times now & Joshua has really gotten the hang of it all. He loves running down to the water to play.

He thinks it is so fun & is usually quite sad when we are "all done" at the beach.

JUNE

June was a momentous month since Ryan graduated, we left Washington & started getting settled in to our new house in San Diego.

1ST TRIP TO THE BEACH
We had gone to the beach before in Seattle, but not to swim, so Joshy wasn't sure what to make of it all when we first arrived at the beach in San Diego.

Even though the water was very cold, he warmed up to the idea of getting in it.

Daddy & Joshy ended up having a great time splashing in the waves together. (Mama thought it was much too cold & watched from the shore.)

Joshy's favorite thing about the beach was all the sand!

He thought it was so funny to be buried in the sand by Daddy!

Joshy even found a leaf bug at the beach, which he thought was quite interesting.

ON A DATE!
Ryan & I have gone on very few dates without Joshua in the past year & a half, so we felt very lucky to have some willing grandparents watch Joshua while we went to a play. It was super fun, especially since it was at an outdoor theater, so we got to sit outside on the grass & eat pizza in our seats before the show started. We'll definitely have to do that again!

AT THE GRANDPARENTS' HOUSE
Joshua & I flew down to San Diego from Seattle and spent a few days at my parents' house waiting for Ryan to arrive in the car.

Joshua found a new use for the basket in the middle of this Lego table. :-)

Every time we put this Darth Vader hat on him we chanted the Darth Vader theme song, so now every time Joshua puts anything on his head on he sings, "doo doo doo doo doo doo."

He loves helping Grandpa feed the birds & the turtles.

AT MISSION BAY PARK
We had so much fun playing on all the playground equipment at this park. Joshy especially loved being pushed on the "wee."

Here he is hiding in a tube.

And climbing on a net.

Looking cool in the car.

UNPACKING
Once we moved in to our house, we had a lot of things to unpack, which Joshua enjoyed helping with most of the time.

GRADUATION!!!
After 4 years of a lot of hard work, Ryan graduated from medical school. I am so proud of him!

Here's Ryan & his proud little pseudo-graduate.

CA GRANDPARENTS VISIT WA
My parents flew up to Washington for Ryan's graduation, so we took them to Whatcom Falls to show off some of the beautiful greenery that the area is known for.

Joshy thought it was so funny when Grandpa made it so the leaves brushed his little face.

Joshy & Grandma both thought this log was a great place to hang out.

Joshy loves his daddy.

Here's our little family (even the twins) getting ready to go down the slide together.

Joshy loved jumping on the trampoline with his grandpa. I think Grandpa thought it was pretty fun too.
